Dr Dejan Maraš, who heads the organising committee for the ball, visited Montenegro a week ago to deliver the promised donations.

Some £6,500 was distributed to four centres for children with special needs in Montenegro – Herceg Novi, Cetinje, Mojkovac and Berane.

He received signed receipts and also letters of gratitudefrom the institutions.

 Maraš, a consultant cardiologist at Luton and Dunstable Hospital, was the subject of much interest from local and national media in the country.

St Sava’s Ball was held in Kensington in February this year, long before the pandemic woes has set in. Now some of the funds raised will alleviate Covid hardships in Kosovo and Metohija which the good doctor aims to deliver later in the year.

Dr Maraš was keen to express his gratitude to everyone who helped make the Svetosavski Ball London 2020 such a success.
