St Sava’s Ball supports dozens of families in 2025
Scores of families in need received morale-boosting relief from trustees of the Njegoš Foundation.
Foundation chairman Dr Dejan Maraš repeated his mission to Gračanica in Kosovo and Metohija to donate gifts to 52 large families. Many live in hardship but for their devotion these mothers have been awarded the Order of the Mother of Jugović by local church leader Metropolitan Teodosije of Raška-Prizren.
Mother of four, Jelena Milanović, from Leposavic said she felt a source of pride at the recognition that their children were their greatest wealth.
Stanislava Todorović from Zvečan who is expecting her fifth child explained the gifts meant that “someone remembers us”.
Dr Maraš added "I tell the people in the Diaspora that despite our material blessings, they should never forget Kosovo and Metohija".
Meanwhile in Bosnia and Herzegovina, trustee Davor Tenšek worked with a local services in Sokolac to deliver aid to twenty local families. He told local media that popular folk singer Snezana Đurišić helped make St Sava’s Ball in London that year a huge success with all tickets sold out.
Izvorinka Bašević, acting director of the Sokolac Center for Social Work presented this certificate to recognise financial assistance provided for 20 large families in the region:

Trustee Boris Gajić also delivered support to two families from Donji Jelovac and one from Košuća. Gajić can trace his family roots to the region and was delighted to make an award of 2,000 euros from gala proceeds.
Nataša Pilipović has been eking out a difficult life with health issues in a dilapidated family home for some years. She sincerely thanked the foundation for the donation and for a gift of firewood to provide heat during the cold winter.
The Njegoš Foundation is looking forward to hosting St Sava's Ball in 2026 so we can together help more families in the coming year.
