Njegos Foundation delivers to Fifty Families in Kosovo and Metohija
Thanks to the unprecedented generosity of our guests and sponsors for St Sava’s Ball 2023, the trustees of the Njegos Foundation London are delighted to announce further humanitarian activism with the proceeds.
The Chair of the trustees, Dr Dejan Maras MD PhD FESC Cardiology Consultant visited the stunning medieval monastery of Gracanica in September where he was welcomed by His Grace Tedosije, Bishop of the Eparchy of Raška and Prizren.
Dr Maraš awarded gifts to fifty families living in Kosovo and Metohija. Each of these families have four or more children. For their devotion, the Church has awarded these mothers with the Order of the Mother of Jugović. After thanking the charity His Grace went on to say:
‘The children you give birth to and raise are a selfless gift which means a great deal to your own families foremost but also to the Church and society too. These children are our future, and that is something we truly value.’
He was accompanied by the Most Reverend Archimandrite Sergej from Ostrog Monastery. He thanked the bishop and all who had gathered to welcome him. St Sava’s Ball 2023 was attended by 230 people this year, he explained, and raised £16,000 for good causes.
The foundation is delighted to announce that St Sava’s Ball 2024 will be held on Saturday 3rd February 2024 at the Copthorne Tara Hotel in Kensington. Please click here for details.
